Renovation works was going on above my unit & their continuous drilling knocking cracked my newly painted ceiling!! It started this morning when small pieces was found at the sink.
When up to inform them but guess the drilling is too noisy for them to hear our knocking. Called the mobile found on the reno notice by the door, but no one picking up. Maybe he's inside too.
Later in the afternoon, worst! Bigger pieces came falling down. When up again, knocked on the door & one of the workers open the door. Informed them that portion of our ceiling is falling & he came down to have a look. Guess what? Was told that they can't do anything about it now & have to wait till the next group of workers (cementing) come, than can help us to cover the holes / cracks.
Logged on to the HDB website & query on my issue, pending their reply.

Have you ever wonder how our future island transport system layout will be like? With the initial of only 5 Northern station (Yio Chu Kang, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Braddell & Toa Payoh) in 1987 to current 51 station all over Singapore major estate & Circle Line under construction, the future of it is not hard to imagine.
After checking out the Master plan on the right, do you have the feeling of being lost when transfering within the MRT system? With the MRT branched so nicely covering all major & new estates, is there still a need to own a car? or even taking other public transport like Taxi & Buses?

Check this out!! So scary.. Such a big Sink Hole opened @ Guatamela, South America. Some mails on the internet claiming that this is the work of the earthquake in Sumatra, Indonesia on 6 Mar 07. Below is the actual news.
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala -- A giant sinkhole opened before dawn Friday 23 Feb 07, swallowing several homes and a truck and leaving a father and two teenagers missing in Guatemala City.
Officials said the 100-meter-deep (330-foot-deep) sinkhole in a crowded neighborhood of poor, concrete homes & blamed the recent rains and an underground sewage flow from a ruptured main for the tragedy.
The pit emitted foul odors, loud noises and tremors, shaking the surrounding ground. A rush of water could be heard from its depths, and authorities feared it could widen or other sinkholes could open up.
Authorities said the hole was extremely unstable, forcing the evacuation of nearly 1,000 people from their homes. Police helped residents, some even carrying refrigerators and televisions on their shoulders.
Police evacuated nearby homes and cordoned off a 500-yard perimeter around the crater. Security officials were on guard for possible looters and curious onlookers.
Authorities had apparently suspected something was wrong with the site before the sinkhole appeared.

The Pacific Ring of Fire is a zone of frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions encircling the basin of the Pacific Ocean. In a 40,000 km horseshoe shape, it is associated with a nearly continuous series of oceanic trenches, island arcs, and volcanic mountain ranges and/or plate movements. It is sometimes called the circum-Pacific belt or the circum-Pacific seismic belt.
The Ring of Fire is a direct consequence of plate tectonics and the movement and collisions of crustal plates. The eastern section of the ring is the result of the Nazca Plate and the Cocos Plate being subducted beneath the westward moving South American Plate. A portion of the Pacific Plate along with the small Juan de Fuca Plate are being subducted beneath the North American Plate. Along the northern portion the northwestward moving Pacific plate is being subducted beneath the Aleutian Islands arc. Further west the Pacific plate is being subducted along the Kamchatka—Kurile Islands arcs on south past Japan. The southern portion is more complex with a number of smaller tectonic plates in collision with the Pacific plate from the Mariana Islands, the Philippines, Bougainville, Tonga, and New Zealand. Indonesia lies between the Ring of Fire along the northeastern islands adjacent to and including New Guinea and the Alpide belt along the south and west from Sumatra, Java, Bali, Flores, and Timor. The famous and very active San Andreas Fault zone of California is a transform fault which offsets a portion of the East Pacific Rise under southwestern United States and Mexico. The motion of the fault generates numerous small earthquakes, at multiple times a day, most of which are too small to be felt.
In the past 25 years, scientists developed a theory called plate tectonics explaining the locations of volcanoes and other large-scale geologic features.
According to tectonic theory, the surface of the Earth is made up of a patchwork of massive rigid plates, about 80km thick, which float in slow motion on top of the Earth's hot, pliable interior. The plates change size and position over time, moving at speeds of between 1cm and 10cm every year - about the speed at which fingernails grow. New sea bed is constantly being created in the middles of the oceans - flowing out as hot lava, and rapidly cooling on contact with cold deep sea water.
To make room for the continual addition of new ocean crust, all the earth's plates move. And as they move, intense geologic activity occurs at the plate edges. At the edges, one of three things may occur. The plates can be moving away from each other, leaving space for new ocean floor. Some plates are moving towards each other, causing one to submerge beneath the other. Other boundaries slide past each other without much disturbance.

My house is shaking... Help!!
Tremors were felt in many parts of Singapore at about 12 noon & 1.50pm today.
According to Singapore’s Meteorological Services Division, NEA, an earthquake was detected at 11:49am, in Padang, Central Sumatra, approximately 430km from Singapore. The magnitude of the earthquake is 6.6 on the Richter scale.
More tremors were felt for about 10 seconds at about 1.52pm, 2 hours after the last incident. This time, another earthquake was detected at 1:49pm in Southern Sumatra, approximately 420km from Singapore. The magnitude of the earthquake is also 6.6 on the Richter Scale.

Although the epicentre of the quake was some distance from Singapore, the tremors were sufficiently strong to send some office workers in many offices running out of their workplace. Even the northen area like Shunfu & Ang Mo Kio.
Some buildings, like the Concourse at Beach Road, Capital Square and Centennial Tower in the city, and even Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Clementi, were evacuated. Witnesses said several tall buildings in the central business district swayed slightly.
For the latest earthquake information, checkout CNA, AsiaOne or the NEA website.

Total Lunar Eclipse partially visible in Singapore on 4 March 2007
Lunar eclipses occur when Earth passes between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun's light. The event is rare because the moon spends most of its time either above or below the plane of Earth's orbit.

Was at the River Ang Bao on CNY Eve, but this year, can really feel that the crowd is much much much lesser that the past few years. The usual pushing, not even around the "Cai Shen" there. Maybe there no numbers or gold flakes falling down so those fortune seeker were no where to be seen..

Instead of those, they have 4 lion making 4 lucky numbers on the floor with orange infront of the "Cai Shen". Just to share, the number is 1718 & guess what, the 1st price on CNY day is 1815.
For those lazy horses, i've taken a snap shot of the auspicious & inauspicious. Maybe i should get more yellow & brown clothing from 37deg for this year due to the auspicious color & numbers. Also go town more often as south & southwest is auspicious. Is it a hint for me to change job??
While going through the Memory lane exhibition, found this very wired, can you figure out what's wrong with the picture beside? No one vet through the script before sending for publish? Or maybe they already notice the error but not in time to re-print? Therefore, this piece was placed facing out in the far end.
Will you throw coins willingly into any well? Guess not right, but unless it's a wishing well.. This year wishing well is much more bigger than the last year & the bell is also bigger. From far, i was aiming for the Lucky & wealth bell but it hit the wedding bell instead. Dose it mean... Well, stay tune to find out!!
After few hours of walking & standing, here's what our thoughful OSIM has presented. A free try on their new back massaging product, the OSIM uPapa. Was it only for the Papas? Mamas cannot use?? Remember few months back in the OTO showroom also saw a similar product call the OTO Tataki. It's also a tapping massager that will help relieve you of soreness, pain and numbness.
About those games stall there, those toys are so ugly... Green monkey, purple bear, rainbow color soft toys. Will you bring them back? No doubt some of those games really require some skills in order to win the little toy. If it's for the fun, yes, no harm trying. Other than that, it's just wasting money.
Lastly, the fireworks display is really disappointing. Nothing special just common fireworks one after another except for the heart shape one. Too bad that we can't just shoot any fireworks here in singapore like in china, else every night the sky will be a flowery sky.

This year eating out again! Saving the trouble of preparing & cleaning at home. We when back to the Cafe at Park Royal Hotel for our reunion dinner. Buffet style, food is not bad but most of them are seafood, not much that i can eat.

In the mist of our dinner, suddenly there were lion dance drum beat closing in & wow!! Lions are roaming around the Hotel Cafe!! Some at the food bar have to give ways for the lion dancer to pass through.. Wondering if the lion dancer would say "Excuse Me"?
Complementary piggy bank as a CNY gift from banks?? Haha.. That's what we received when making payment for the dinner.

Post CNY Ang Pow from the government, the GST Offset Package.
How much will you be getting back after paying for the extra 2% GST hike WEF 1 July 07? From the diagram, my guess is i'll be only getting $200/year for 4 years + the one-off $100 as an NSmen that contribute to the national security.
If my spending is $1600 after CPF contributions & regular saving, the amout of extra GST i've to pay will be $32, which make up to $384 a year. Since i'll be getting a $200 off set, i still have to fork out the extra $184. So.. I'm going to spend less & save more WEF 1 July 07 also.
How & when to sign up??

When Coastes (Situated along Siloso Beach Walk next to Sentosa Beach Stations) for dinner yesterday, it's really a cozy place with sea breeze & romantic candlelight under the starry sky.
Heard some loud music & saw some beautful water display from far, when to take a look & saw them rehearing for the upcoming opening of the new musicial fountian @ Siloso Beach on July 07.
The main stairs to the fountian was con off, but you can enter via the carpark. There's a staris that lead to the beach in the Yellow section of the beach carpark where you can access to the new fountian. By the way, the carpark is $1/entry/day.

Will you join a queue for 3hrs for this donuts? Well, for me, i'll try to try everything that's new in town especially food.. Heard lately that people are going crazy about this donuts & how tasty it is, so i'll decided to join the queue & get myself some.
When it's finally my turn to order, no more cheeze donuts liao.. So sad. From the look, it's not much different from the dunkin & Mister. The only different is the dough is really soft & it still maintain the softness even when reheated on the second day.
Although their donut is nice, but the queue really is a major turn off. Will they be opening another outlet or franchising?? Hope they will not end up like the Roti Boy that has finally when home... (Should be home by now).
Location : Raffles City Basement (Near to That's CD Shop)
